Bio

Raised in the US South by her Bahamian family, Melissa is a registered dietitian, a food, health, and nutrition writer, and a single mom exploring Florida life with her son. She believes food and nutrition are just as much about culture, comfort, and joy as they are about health and strives to create fun, relatable, culturally-inclusive content to help readers take a deep breath, feel seen, and make sense of the food around them.

Outside of work, Melissa can be found reading at the beach, serving at her church, running with Jacksonville Moms on the Run, and enjoying good food wherever she can find a waterfront patio.
