Simple App Privacy Notice

This short Privacy Notice explains how Simple.Life Apps Inc. (further referred to as “we” or “us”) collects, stores, uses, and protects your personal data in connection with our in-app Questionnaire (also referred to as “Survey”). This additional Notice is complementary to our Privacy Policy that further explains your personal data protection rights and our practices regarding processing, retention, and security measures. Any right or obligation contained in this Privacy Notice is in line with our Privacy Policy. We value your privacy and do our best to ensure your data is safe with us.

1. Purpose of the survey

The questions in our Survey are all health-related and relevant to the use of our app. The purpose of the Questionnaire is to learn more about our users and their eating habits — the link between them and overall wellbeing, as well as reasons for trying intermittent fasting in the first place. We want to expand our assistance even further — not only by changing eating patterns but also by targeting other behavioral issues our users might be facing. Your data will not be shared or sold to any third parties.

2. Your data — your rights

Through the Survey we will collect the following data from you:

  • General information about your health and wellbeing
  • Information about any your digestive system functioning issues
  • Information about any fatigue or depression issues you might have
  • Data about your sleep quality

Your usual data protection rights are maintained, all in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes:

  • The right to access. You can ask us for a confirmation that we process your personal data with the information related to its processing.
  • The right to data portability. You can request that we provide you with your personal data in a structured and portable format.
  • The right to correction. You can ask us to correct your personal data if you believe that it might be inaccurate.
  • The right to erasure. You may ask us to erase your personal data upon your withdrawal of the consent to processing if you believe that such processing is unlawful.
  • The right to restrict processing. You can request a restriction of your personal data processing if you contest the accuracy of your personal data.
  • The right to object to processing. You can object to the processing of your personal data that is processed under certain legal bases — for example, the data that we process under the legitimate interest basis.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisor. However, if you have concerns about our data protection activities, we would kindly ask you to first contact us at support@simple.life and we will do our best to ensure proper handling of your personal data.

At the end of the research, all the data will be anonymized. We retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes of its collection and processing, but in any case for no longer than 2 years, unless we are required to retain your personal data for a longer period due to applicable legislation requirements, any ongoing dispute resolution or to enforce our agreements.

The Survey is not designed for or intentionally targeted at children under the age of 18. We do not intentionally collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 18. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have received such information, we will take steps to delete it.

3. Scientific research

As mentioned above, the purpose of the Survey is purely scientific. With that in mind and with your consent, we may share your information, including with our partners or research institutions, only in an aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified fashion, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you. For example, we may share, including, without limitation, in articles, blog posts, and scientific publications, general age demographic information, and aggregate statistics about certain activities or symptoms from data collected to help identify patterns across users. We will also use these data to expand the services that we provide to you through our application. Please note that we do not intend to share your non-anonymized personal data with anyone outside our organization.
